What I am committing to this year….

A new writer this week, Richard, is new to FED and is keen to highlight an aspect that is giving him energy.

I had the good fortune to be in Times Square for New Year, right under the ball-drop along with two million other people. It was a great place to be to feel the energy and drive of so many people all of whom were ‘up to something together’ – celebrating the New Year.

And this got me thinking about what I am committing to this year, what I want to bring to my personal leadership practice and how I can use the Future Engage Deliver approach to help me. Now I am new to FED but I think I have got it! ‘It’ for me is acknowledging just how far we have come and celebrating our successes and acknowledging them publicly. Not just one-to-one but all of us celebrating together, and then building on this together for the future. And I realise that along with it being very engaging to ‘be up to something together’ that celebrating success together is the other key to being engaging.

So what I am committing to this year is together with my peer coaching group to celebrate successes in the organisation, not just our own but other people’s and to use this as a platform for building the future together.

Leadership nudge: What successes, not your own, could you be celebrating this week as part of engaging people in the future?
