What are you committing to practice?

A few weeks ago I read a great interview with actor Javier Bardem in which he is quoted as saying: I don’t do failure. I don’t do success. I only do commitment. So rather than making a new year resolution how about thinking about what you are committing to practice…… what – if you really committed to ‘it’ – is the difference that you could make through your leadership wherever you are and whatever you are up to?

My own commitment is to practice ‘kindness’– to myself and to others. In conversation with a friend and colleague on New Year’s Day she spoke about committing to ‘being glad of what she has’, rather than focusing on what she has not. And another spoke of committing to ‘letting go’, of holding things lightly rather than tightly.

So take a few minutes this week to think about what you are committing to practice, and let someone know so that they can check in with you to see how you are getting on.

Happy New Year from all of us here at FED Central.
