There are a number of FED ideas I wish were taught to us all at school. One popped up in a session last week on Being At Your Best. Very many of us don’t seem to be aware of how we are different in the top right and left boxes of the Being At Your Best model ie high energy At Our Best versus high energy Just Surviving. In both places, we want to make things happen and get people into action but there are two very different ways of being available to us. Think for a minute about what you’re like in these boxes and how well you know the difference between your two ways of being. The way I distinguish between the two for me is that in both instances I might bring energy, passion, desire even anger but when I’m in my top left survival mode a key ingredient is that I’m making someone wrong. When I’m at my best, I’m not doing this; I’m accepting what is and working with it. Does this resonate with you or do you have another way of helping yourself be At Your Best rather than triggered?
