About Jennifer James

Head of Customer Experience, Boots Multichannel
I was promoted into my current role three years ago having moved into digital nearly ten years ago, when the dotcom world was very, very different. I’ve done several commercial roles throughout the organisation, both on and offline and I’m currently lucky enough to job-share with the only person I’ve ever met who I’d consider sharing a job with.
At home, I’m extremely lucky to have two brilliant children, Harry (3½) and Edith (18 months). Since becoming a mum I’ve discovered reserves of patience I never knew I had and that the best things in life really are free.
My first taste of leadership came aged 16 as girls’ captain of the local swimming club. Completing a triathlon remains one of my proudest achievements. And, indulging myself and my fascination with people, I’m a qualified humanistic counsellor.

What was it about his leadership that was so powerful? 1.  He listened intensely. Scarily so when I first started reporting to him. Yes, he could [...]
